  • Clean up and denoise recordings from non-ideal rooms (hum, hiss, room noise)
  • Edit + prep your session for mixing (organization, rough balance, static mix)
Week 5

Mixing Essentials – Part 1

  • Build a solid, clear static mix using balance, panning, and foundational EQ/compression.

  •  Identify and resolve the most common mix issues (mud, masking, harshness, weak low end, etc.).

  •  Develop a workflow for efficient, creative mixing—so you don’t get lost or overwhelmed.

Week 6

Mixing Essentials – Part 2 + Finishing

  • Add depth, dimension, and movement to your mix using effects and automation.

  •   Ensure your mix translates well across different playback systems.

  • Apply light bus processing + loudness metering (LUFS) to export a release-ready version
